
Team PerformancePeak team performance comes from a combination of having the right people on the team, effective leadership, good communication, and having each member of the team developed to their full potential. Effective leadership relies on understanding human nature and drives the entire process of building and developing a high performing team. Effective leadership inspires the best effort in others, and is reflected in the head of the team, the "culture" of the team, and the quality of the communication that takes place. Typically 20% of a team is made up of great producers - people who meet and exceed your expectations. Then, there are the bottom 20% who not only don't meet your expectations, but have no desire to make a change in themselves. And finally there is the remaining 60% of your team. This middle group is where the greatest opportunity lies. The group is generally made up of people who are doing "OK", but could be doing better - sometimes much better.
